We believe that everyone has different tastes and preferences.  At TEANZO 1856, we strive to provide a wide variety of innovative tea blends so that you as a consumer have a choice.  We make sure that every tea we sell is held to a very high standard for quality and flavor.   There’s nothing worse than a bad cup of tea.  In fact, that’s why we started TEANZO 1856 in the first place!   We had too many bad cups of tea and decided to take matters into our own hands.

Our commitment to high quality means that our teas are never made from crystallized powders or tea concentrate, and contain only the freshest tea leaves and herbs.

What is Tea Dust?

Tea dust is the lowest grade of tea - basically the leftover dust after all the nice tea leaves have been taken out.  Fannings are the next grade higher - not much better. They are generally considered the rejects in the tea manufacturing process.  Our teas are made with premium grades of tea.  That is why we show the beautiful photographs of our tea on our website.  We want you to see the quality of our tea.  Which one do you think is better?

Why 1856?

We honor the date 1856 for the year that the first Darjeeling tea plantation was successfully established. Darjeeling tea is the "champagne" of teas.
